The company positions itself as a leader across a broad range of services, supported by a large dedicated team with many years of combined experience in sustainable design, fire and life safety, cost management, façade engineering, commissioning, building performance, waste management, environmental consultancy, carbon management, and acoustics.
Role Purpose
This position is responsible for providing consultancy support to AESG clients, with project work that includes fire protection design, technical reviews, inspections, and involvement in fire and life safety strategy activities when needed.
Qualifications and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, or an equivalent qualification in a related discipline, is required. Candidates should bring at least 6 years of professional experience in fire protection engineering. A recognised professional engineering credential such as CFPS, FE, NFPA, or an equivalent certification is also expected.
General Expectations
The role calls for extensive experience, strong capability in specialised technical areas, and the ability to add practical value to project outcomes.
Key Duties
The engineer will be expected to support high-standard project delivery, maintain the quality and timeliness of all outputs, and serve as a central contact point for smooth execution. Core work includes fire protection design, drawing reviews, inspection activities, and the preparation of drawings and review packages for authority submissions and approvals. The role also involves writing fire protection reports, preparing accurate submittals within agreed deadlines, and producing final fire protection and fire and life safety strategy reports and studies when assigned.
Additional responsibilities include leading the ongoing development of fire protection and fire and life safety design deliverables, acting as project manager for fire and life safety and multidisciplinary assignments in line with AESG project management standards, and ensuring project timelines are met for designs, reports, client meetings, workshops, and related submissions. The role also requires maintaining full traceability and version control for technical documents, contributing to successful project completion, pursuing professional development through training, supporting the implementation and upkeep of the integrated management system, and carrying out all fire and life safety work in a safe and quality-focused manner while reporting any risks or issues to the relevant lead.
Competencies
The ideal candidate should demonstrate leadership and management capability, strong communication and collaboration skills, solid technical expertise, an innovative mindset, client-facing confidence, and strategic awareness. The role also requires effective time planning, experience across a range of relevant project types, project and operational delivery capability, early people-management or mentoring exposure, commercial awareness, problem-solving ability, process compliance, and alignment with AESG’s core values of honesty, flexibility, adaptability, client focus, and collaboration.
