Role overview
This position sits within the Product Development / Innovation Lab team in Mumbai and reports to the Manager – Product Innovation / Technical Evaluation. The selected candidate will act as the link between end users and the technical formulation group by taking lab-created samples to real consumers, running salon-based trials, overseeing extended consumer assessments, and converting feedback into practical input for formula refinement and new product creation.
Key responsibilities
- Source, screen, and engage appropriate consumers as well as salon collaborators for trials and product checks.
- Run instant, short-duration, and extended consumer testing for lab-formulated skincare, haircare, and color cosmetic products.
- Track, document, and evaluate consumer reactions related to performance, feel, scent, effectiveness, and overall sensory experience.
- Carry out salon visits to showcase products and collect professional input from stylists, makeup artists, and beauty advisors.
- Keep organized records of trial outcomes, feedback interactions, and participant profiles.
- Work with formulation, claims, and marketing teams to decode feedback and recommend technical changes.
- Condense consumer learnings into clear recommendations that can improve products.
- Contribute to consumer evaluation documentation and help assess whether products are ready for launch.
