Role overview

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities is hiring a Career Service Custodial Worker for its DDDP location in Chattahoochee, Florida. This is an on-site role in a secure forensic facility and is not eligible for telework.

Key duties

  • Carry out specialized daily cleaning and disinfection of occupied and unoccupied patient rooms, including beds, furniture, call systems, lights, windowsills, ledges, doors, floors, and other contact surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize patient and public restrooms, including sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, urinals, fixtures, mirrors, walls, and partitions, while replacing soap and paper supplies.
  • Use housekeeping equipment such as automatic scrubbers, wet vacuums, carpet vacuums, buffers, scrubbers, pressure washers, and corner or ceiling cleaning machines.
  • Perform daily cleaning in utility rooms and other assigned areas.
  • Strip, scrub, buff, and shampoo floors as needed, and apply sealers, floor finish, germicidal cleaners, strippers, and other cleaning products.
  • Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards such as leaks, damaged fixtures, broken windows or doors, broken beds, loose tiles, and similar issues to a supervisor.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions when requested.
  • Restock and clean carts and supply areas as needed.
  • Hang draperies or curtains when requested.
  • Follow the assigned work schedule and complete all required training.
  • Maintain the agency-approved crisis prevention certification as required.
  • Keep time records accurate and submit them on time according to policy.
