Role overview
An established insurance brokerage is looking for an experienced professional to join its Auckland corporate team as a Client Manager. This position sits within a flexible working environment and offers the chance to develop your career with guidance from highly experienced mentors.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and help manage a medium-to-large client portfolio so each client’s insurance and risk management requirements are met effectively.
- Support new business generation by identifying prospects and creating cross-selling opportunities.
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with important stakeholders, including insurance markets and distribution partners.
- Deliver tailored advice on complex insurance needs, including policy terms, covered risks, premium levels, benefits, and suitable cover recommendations.
- Track claims closely and work with internal claims staff or insurer claims officers to support prompt and, where possible, favourable outcomes.
What you need to succeed
The ideal candidate can take direction well, work cooperatively with others, and also operate independently with good self-management. You should be comfortable juggling several priorities at once and adjusting when circumstances change. Strong communication, leadership, and people skills are essential, along with a careful approach to quality, compliance, and accuracy.
Qualifications and experience
- A New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) is mandatory.
- Proven insurance broking experience in the financial services sector, including exposure to both local and international markets.
- Solid understanding of insurance products, relevant legal obligations, and the claims process.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with WinBEAT (or an equivalent eGlobal-style system) is advantageous.
