Civil and Structural Design Engineer

Role overview

Energoprojekt ENTEL is hiring a Civil and Structural Design Engineer for its Qatar operations. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Doha and is open to applicants who already hold a valid residency permit in Qatar.

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for producing civil and structural design deliverables for oil and gas infrastructure, with a focus on steel and concrete structures such as pipeline and piping supports, pipe racks, vessels, culverts, track roads, road crossings, and related facilities. Your work must align with international requirements as well as Shell DEP and QatarEnergy standards.

The role also includes drafting technical reports, preparing material specifications and method statements, developing design sketches and guidance for draftsmen, and reviewing/approving drafting output in AutoCAD. You will work closely with mechanical, piping, and pipeline engineers to coordinate multidisciplinary designs, collect inputs from other discipline documents, review subcontractor submissions, and participate in client and contractor meetings.

Requirements and qualifications

Applicants should have more than 10 years of overall professional experience, including over 5 years in relevant oil and gas greenfield and brownfield projects, particularly those connected to QatarEnergy and its subsidiaries. A strong understanding of mechanical, process, piping, pipeline, and other related disciplines is needed, along with the ability to interpret their drawings and reports.

Knowledge of pipe stress analysis outputs and tools such as CAESAR II, as well as hydraulic analysis software like PIPENET and EPANET, is expected. Candidates must be proficient in structural finite element modelling and design preparation using Staad Pro or similar software, and should be comfortable working with MS Office. Familiarity with applicable engineering standards and practices is required. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or structural engineering is mandatory, along with registration with the Ministry of Municipality. Strong teamwork, written communication, and verbal communication skills are also essential.
