Business Analyst

Role overview

This opening is for a local Business Analyst supporting a new assignment with a client in St. Louis. The role follows a hybrid work model, so only candidates based locally should be considered. Remote contracting through C2C arrangements is not accepted, and sponsorship is not available.

Key responsibilities

The position focuses on business analysis work across technology and application development initiatives. The analyst will help shape technical needs, define requirements, support solution development, and contribute through launch. The role also calls for building business cases, evaluating costs and benefits, and creating clear documentation that supports project teams and customer expectations.

Required experience and capabilities

Candidates should bring practical experience analyzing business processes and data, along with a solid understanding of business analysis methods and modeling approaches. The role calls for strong listening, research, and attention to detail, plus the ability to work independently with little supervision while still contributing effectively in a team setting. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, especially for technical documentation and a consultative working style.

Hands-on experience with functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, data flows, process flows, testing concepts, and software delivery practices is expected. Familiarity with the IIBA Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, ITIL, and IT product methodologies is also important. Proficiency with MS Office and Visio is required, along with the ability to handle complex technical or business issues and provide direction where needed.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field is preferred, or an equivalent mix of education, certification, and experience.
