About the Company
West Cork Distillers began in 2003, founded by John O'Connell, Denis McCarthy, and Ger McCarthy. Since then, it has expanded to a workforce of more than 200 people across its distillery in Skibbereen, County Cork, and its Waterford location, Donohoe Drinks. The business is driven by an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong interest in both the science and craftsmanship behind spirit and whiskey production.
The company is known for its innovative methods and for producing, maturing, distilling, and bottling some of the leading craft Irish whiskey available internationally today.
Role Overview
West Cork Distillers is seeking Bottling Production Operatives to join its bottling team in Skibbereen. This team is one of the largest in the company, handling products and customer-branded products that are bottled, packed, and exported to more than 70 countries worldwide.
Key Duties
- Carry out labelling and packing of products.
- Assemble finished products onto the correct pallets, ensuring they are stacked straight and in the proper layout for safe transport.
- Follow all bottling procedures from the start of production through to dispatch.
- Make sure pallets are properly wrapped and fitted with a dust cap on top.
- Complete and maintain all bottle records, end-of-line checks, finished pallet records, and any related documentation accurately.
- Work in line with food safety rules, quality standards, production and packing procedures, and all relevant legal requirements at all times.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and well-organised work area.
- Keep the plant in a constant audit-ready condition, with close attention to cleanliness, production records, and site security.
- Inspect bottles, labels, and packaging before, during, and after production, and alert QC to any issues.
- Ensure traceability procedures are followed without exception.
- Operate in accordance with forklift and pallet truck procedures at all times.
- Take on additional or different tasks when needed, depending on business requirements.
