Assistant Manager (Electrical Maintenance)

Role overview

This role is focused on keeping electrical utilities, automation systems, and plant equipment running safely, dependably, and with controlled maintenance costs. The position calls for hands-on expertise in industrial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, planning, and compliance, along with coordination across technicians and support functions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain all electrical systems so they operate safely, reliably, and in a cost-efficient manner.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in Siemens and Fanuc systems.
• Work with PLC platforms such as Siemens S7-200, S7-300, and S7-1500, as well as Fanuc Oi / 31i controllers.
• Use Siemens Step-7 and WinCC for system support and related tasks.
• Support upkeep of CNC machines and related equipment.
• Collaborate effectively with multiple technicians and maintenance personnel.
• Read, study, and modify ladder diagrams as required.
• Handle equipment involving servo motors, linear and rotary encoders, magnetic encoders, and optical encoders.
• Work with pressure transducers, temperature controllers/recorders, PT100, and RTD instrumentation.
• Prepare technical specifications for procurement of spares and maintenance materials.
• Use SAP maintenance modules for maintenance-related activities.
• Demonstrate leadership and clear communication while coordinating maintenance work.
• Prepare and monitor budgets connected to maintenance operations.
• Execute preventive and breakdown maintenance for electrical systems.
• Create and maintain critical spares lists and ensure availability of required items.
• Review breakdown incidents and define corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
• Drive cost-control measures and improve spare planning and inventory management.
• Track corrective and preventive actions and verify that they are effective.
• Ensure housekeeping standards and safe work practices are consistently followed.
• Monitor energy usage and work toward optimum power consumption.
• Maintain maintenance records such as checklists, history cards, and calibration logs.
• Support TPM, 5S, and Kaizen/suggestion implementation activities.
• Operate and maintain 33KV substation switchgear systems.
• Handle substation and utility-related maintenance tasks.
• Work with VCB and ACB breakers.
• Carry out operation and maintenance of power transformers.
• Maintain BBT systems, EOT cranes, protective relays, welding machines, and compressors.
• Support energy-saving initiatives for CNC machines.
• Work on control wiring circuits and lockout/tagout-based energy isolation for multiple sources.
• Apply strong knowledge of HT/LT systems and industrial electrical equipment.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Follow safety management requirements and ensure statutory compliance.

Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of HT and LT electrical systems used in industrial environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and automation issues effectively.
• Working knowledge of Siemens and Fanuc control systems.
• Experience with PLC logic, Step-7, WinCC, and ladder diagram changes.
• Familiarity with CNC equipment and related maintenance practices.
• Understanding of servo motors, encoders, transducers, RTDs, and temperature control instruments.
• Knowledge of SAP maintenance processes.
• Ability to prepare budgets, monitor costs, and manage spare inventory.
• Good leadership and communication abilities.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance, corrective action tracking, TPM, 5S, and Kaizen practices.
• Knowledge of substation, utility, breaker, transformer, relay, crane, compressor, and welding machine maintenance.
• Awareness of lockout/tagout procedures and industrial safety practices.
• Capability to maintain maintenance documentation and support statutory compliance.
