This is an entry-level management role that supports banquet operations by guiding the team, helping deliver events to the required standards, and stepping in directly during event execution. The position also includes responsibility for monitoring performance, coaching staff, and handling financial as well as administrative tasks.

Education and Experience
The role calls for a high school diploma or GED, along with 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, or a similar professional environment.
Key Duties
- Oversee department stock and assets, including inventory levels and equipment upkeep.
- Run monthly meetings with banquet captains and team members.
- Keep attendance records for banquet staff.
- Maintain required sanitation standards and make sure they are followed.
- Ensure compliance with all SOPs, LSOPs, and related policies and procedures.
- Help the team stay aware of meeting planner survey results and guest satisfaction scores related to the event phase.
- Place orders for departmental supplies such as china, glassware, silver, buffet display items, props, and other service materials.
- Use banquet beverage usage records to support liquor cost control, beverage inventory management, and requisitioning.
- Understand how banquet operations affect event success and direct activities to improve guest satisfaction.
- Create staff schedules based on forecasts and service standards while supporting profit goals.
- Attend relevant meetings and take an active role in banquet team coordination.
- Lead shifts and personally assist in event service delivery.
- Continue building knowledge of food and wine combinations, modern cuisine, and event presentation.
- Set the tone for strong guest relations and positive service behavior.
- Speak with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service delivery.
- Address guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Enable employees to deliver high-quality customer service.
- Work toward ongoing improvements in service performance.
- Keep guest satisfaction central in team meetings and improvement plans.
- Review quarterly meeting planner survey results and help implement corrective actions where needed.
- Recruit and hire banquet captains and team members with the right capabilities.
- Support onboarding and training so new hires can perform effectively.
- Make sure employees understand expectations, standards, and performance boundaries.
- Observe service conduct and provide direct feedback to employees.
- Review comment cards and guest satisfaction feedback with the team.
- Contribute to corrective action planning and follow-through.
- Communicate and carry out emergency procedures and ensure the team is trained in safety practices.
