Role Overview

This role is for an AI Engineer who will create practical, high-impact AI solutions for complex enterprise use cases across APAC. The position involves building agentic AI systems, LLM-based applications, and production-grade machine learning pipelines. It is a hands-on engineering role within a customer-facing field team, where the output is expected to be used directly by enterprises from the beginning.

The selected candidate will work with Kaggle Grandmasters, ML engineers, and subject-matter experts to deliver solutions that move beyond prototypes and support real business outcomes. The role is located in Sydney, Australia and is offered in a remote-friendly setup.

What You Will Be Doing

• Create, implement, and roll out AI applications, ML models, and agent-based systems on the H2O AI platform.
• Handle the full ML lifecycle, including data preparation, feature work, model training, assessment, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
• Develop production-ready capabilities that combine predictive ML, GenAI, retrieval-augmented generation, and LLM components.
• Build backend services and APIs that connect models, data sources, and applications.
• Help deploy AI solutions in customer settings for both predictive and generative AI scenarios.
• Participate in technical workshops, demonstrations, and user enablement activities.
• Work with senior engineers and other teams to create reusable building blocks and reference architectures.
• Explain technical work clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What We Are Looking For

• 2 to 5 years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, or software engineering.
• Solid grasp of predictive ML concepts such as feature engineering, training, evaluation, and interpretation.
• Practical experience deploying ML or AI solutions in production or near-production settings.
• Familiarity with GenAI concepts such as LLMs, SLMs, RAG, prompt design, or agentic systems.
• Strong Python skills and sound software engineering practices, including testing, debugging, version control, and CI/CD.
• Experience creating APIs or backend services.
• Basic awareness of cloud platforms and MLOps/LLMOps practices.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
