Job summary

The Production Supervisor will guide hourly operators to meet targets for output, safety, quality, and delivery on a day-to-day basis. The role focuses on organizing line activities, allocating tasks according to priorities and available resources, and making sure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in line with established standards. It also supports continuous improvement efforts, reinforces operational discipline, and works with other functions to remove obstacles and help the business achieve its goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and assign daily work for operators according to production needs, line priorities, and available capacity.
• Coach and oversee hourly team members so that work is carried out safely, accurately, and in line with approved procedures and quality expectations.
• Run daily team meetings to review performance, priority items, open issues, and action items.
• Confirm that the line is ready before each shift starts, including people, materials, equipment, and process readiness.
• Support the production systems and tools used for execution, monitoring, and reporting.
• Spot, report, and escalate concerns related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost when needed.
• Promote adherence to safety rules, safe working methods, and company policies.
• Take part in problem solving, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for production, quality, safety, and operational issues.
• Make sure materials and consumables are available at workstations to avoid production interruptions.
• Prepare and share production paperwork and operational instructions as required.
• Track line performance to ensure standard work, process discipline, and production targets are being followed.
• Maintain a tidy, safe, and well-organized workplace that meets 5S and workplace organization standards.
• Use Lean manufacturing principles in daily supervision and line management.
• Highlight and communicate opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and waste reduction.
• Help strengthen standard work, visual management, line layout, and process consistency.
• Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Engineering teams to solve problems and achieve production goals.
• Use shop-floor systems, tracking tools, and escalation processes as needed.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety rules, procedures, and operating requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma, technical college qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production setting.
• At least 2 years of experience leading teams, coordinating shop-floor work, or supervising operators.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, DMS, SQDC, 5S, and continuous improvement methods is preferred.
• Experience running daily management meetings and supporting visual management practices is preferred.
• Familiarity with production systems such as ELM, SmartShop, and MyAndon is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience with gas turbine components or other precision aerospace/industrial parts is preferred.
