Security Operations Specialist

Overview

The Security Operations Specialist is tasked with upholding the safety and security of Fidelity's critical resources, including personnel, facilities, information, and corporate reputation. This role plays a pivotal part in managing physical security operations by overseeing infrastructure monitoring, daily security activities, and contributing to enterprise risk management. It demands operational vigilance, intelligence-driven approaches, and incident response capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a prominent onsite security presence, acting as the main contact for life safety incidents, medical emergencies, security events, and other operational challenges impacting employees, premises, or business functions.
• Collaborate with internal departments, security vendors, and external partners to ensure security policies, programs, and procedures are consistently executed and up-to-date.
• Support multiple facets of the Global Security division—including Intelligence, Security Infrastructure, Threat Monitoring, and Investigations—for activities ranging from intelligence gathering and analysis to incident response and risk reduction efforts.
• Offer real-time security oversight and analysis to guide operational decisions.
• Conduct open-source intelligence research to support investigations, risk evaluations, and security strategy formulation.
• Prepare and deliver reports, briefings, presentations, and situational updates to stakeholders.
• Engage with domestic and international security partners to enhance threat awareness and information exchange.
• Support physical access management, security technology projects, vendor supervision, and onsite security operations.
• Assist in investigations, post-incident reviews, lessons learned initiatives, and information sharing to continuously improve security postures.

• Experience collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders on security evaluations, projects, and initiatives.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Sound judgment in identifying, evaluating, and escalating risks when necessary.
• Excellent communication skills, including writing, verbal articulation, and presentation delivery to individual and group audiences.
• Proficient analytical and research skills using diverse information sources, including assessing the validity and relevance of data.
• Understanding of physical security operations, including access control, incident management, and safety protocols.
• Capability to make quick, well-considered decisions under pressure.

Additional Details

This position requires physical presence five days a week at the Galway office. The role demands engaging with various management levels, partners, vendors, and government agencies to maintain a robust security framework.
