About the Integrated Pack House, Govindpur

The Integrated Pack House at Govindpur is a modern cold storage and integrated cold chain facility developed under the Department of Horticulture, Government of Odisha. The site includes cold storage, pre-cooling units, ripening chambers, sorting and grading infrastructure, loading bays, and aggregation centres to improve the handling of perishable produce.

Located strategically on NH-55 near Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the facility supports fruits, vegetables, dairy, processed food, medicines, and other temperature-sensitive products. It is backed by 100% genset support and has parking space for more than 50 vehicles, helping reduce post-harvest losses and strengthen cold chain operations across the state.

Role Summary

This position is suited for a professional with an agricultural background who can spot, develop, and convert cold chain infrastructure opportunities within agri and allied sectors. The role involves project generation, execution coordination, and business expansion for cold storage and temperature-controlled solutions.

The ideal candidate should already have strong relationships within the ecosystem of farmers, FPOs, agri-entrepreneurs, government departments, food processors, and exporters.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new projects in cold storage, integrated pack houses, ripening chambers, and reefer logistics from the agriculture sector.
• Build business opportunities through FPOs, agri-cooperatives, exporters, food processing units, and farmer groups.
• Develop zonal-level relationships with farmers and agri stakeholders to create project partnerships.
• Work with government departments on subsidy-linked projects and approval processes.
• Meet assigned targets for project acquisition and revenue generation.
• Carry out site visits and feasibility evaluations.
• Discuss commercial terms and close business deals successfully.
• Coordinate with technical teams, vendors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets so work is completed on schedule and within scope.
• Support clients after installation and maintain long-term business relationships.

Requirements

• A background in agriculture or a closely related discipline is required, with one of the following qualifications: B.Sc. in Agriculture, M.Sc. in Agriculture, B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering, or MBA in Agri-Business Management.
• Prior experience of 2 to 5 years in agri infrastructure projects, cold storage, pack houses, food processing units, or government subsidy-driven assignments is expected.
• Strong field exposure and an established network in the agriculture sector are important for this role.
• Good networking, relationship management, sales, and negotiation abilities are essential.
• The candidate should be comfortable with field-based work, target ownership, and a self-driven approach.
• Capability to generate at least 2 to 4 projects every month is preferred.
• Solid understanding of the post-harvest management sector and the agriculture ecosystem is needed.
