About the Role

This 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover position is based in Auckland within Westpac New Zealand. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Lead for Professional Services, the role focuses on supporting commercial and procurement functions for the Professional Services portfolio, which includes digital services, learning and development, and wider corporate services.

The position involves managing lower value sourcing activities within the Professional Services category, ensuring compliance with Westpac's comprehensive procurement lifecycle—from sourcing through contract execution. You will ensure adherence to regulatory and internal requirements, escalating risks as needed. Collaborative relationship-building with business stakeholders and suppliers is critical to achieve cost reduction, improve sustainability, and enhance value.

Responsibilities

  • Drive procurement process improvements and support business stakeholders in the Professional Services category.
  • Manage lower value sourcing activities aligned with the procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to contract finalization.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to identify cost savings and sustainability enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with Westpac Group policies and relevant regulations, escalating risks appropriately.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver efficient outcomes.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in corporate or ICT procurement, preferably within financial services or other heavily regulated industries.
  • Strong skills in contract management and negotiation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Commercial insight with the capability to foster trusted stakeholder relationships.
