Role overview
BASIS Baton Rouge Materra Campus is hiring a full-time Monitor to support student supervision and daily school operations. This position focuses on keeping students safe and appropriately supervised during lunches, recess, parking duty, and the school’s Early Bird and Late Bird programs.
Key duties
- Oversee students to help maintain a safe environment.
- Supervise student conduct during lunch, recess, passing time, and before- and after-school periods.
- Escalate disruptive or inappropriate behavior to school leadership.
- Notify the supervisor about any damage to school property.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to urgent situations such as injuries or food allergy incidents.
- Use good judgment while carrying out day-to-day responsibilities.
- Provide support at the front office when needed.
- Keep attendance reliable, consistent, and predictable.
- Supervise individual students and groups during both structured and unstructured activities.
Required qualifications
A high school diploma or a higher qualification is required. Applicants must also have valid fingerprint clearance and/or pass the applicable state background check.
Preferred background
Prior experience in a school setting or child care environment is preferred.
