Role Overview

The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for making sure receiving and merchandising standards are carried out effectively. This role helps the store team process merchandise efficiently, keeps the sales floor moving, and supports a welcoming shopping environment through strong customer interaction and a clean, organized store.

Key Duties

• Deliver a positive experience for both customers and associates.
• Champion honesty, integrity, and confidentiality in day-to-day work.
• Coordinate truck unloading and prioritize moving product to the sales floor.
• Coach and support associates on merchandising and processing practices.
• Check that items are tagged, hung, secured, and coded correctly.
• Work with the Coordinator on Duty to keep merchandise flowing smoothly to the floor.
• Make sure the team completes tasks in line with the store plan, adjusting priorities when needed.
• Track team productivity and provide coaching as required.
• Arrange and rotate back stock to make replenishment easier.
• Maintain merchandising standards and signage consistency.
• Keep the backroom orderly, clean, and recovered.
• Follow recycling requirements and hazardous waste procedures where applicable.
• Communicate priorities and progress clearly with management and associates.
• Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with management to identify associate training needs.
• Follow labor laws, company policies, and operational procedures.
• Support credit and loyalty program promotion.
• Contribute to shrink reduction efforts and store safety initiatives.
• Handle additional tasks as assigned.

Candidate Profile

• Comfortable working a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Able to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
• Capable of adapting quickly to changes or unexpected situations.
• Works well as part of a team with peers and supervisors.
• Physically able to lift heavy items, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Can train and guide other associates.
• Has at least 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Compensation

The starting pay range for this position is $16.00 to $16.50 per hour. The actual starting rate depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
