What the role involves

In this position, you will often work independently after your initial training period and will need a full Class 2 licence. The work is physically demanding and involves filling LPG cylinders, moving and loading them onto trucks, unloading them, and making deliveries throughout the Christchurch area. Health and safety is a major priority, so you’ll be expected to carry out all tasks while helping maintain a safe working environment.

Skills and qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, you should bring a minimum Class 2 heavy trade vehicle licence. A Dangerous Goods endorsement would be beneficial, although training can be provided if needed. You should also have proven truck-driving experience, ideally in a delivery-based role, along with a strong customer service mindset.

A good level of physical fitness is necessary because the role involves handling LPG cylinders. You’ll also need solid communication skills, the ability to work well within a team, a dependable work ethic, integrity, adaptability, and the flexibility to work outside standard business hours and in all weather conditions.
