Role summary
Cater Care is hiring a permanent full-time Handyperson based in Brisbane, Queensland. The role is part of the Trades category and involves FIFO work from Brisbane on a 14/7 swing roster with 11-hour shifts. This position alternates between one week of Handyperson duties and one week of Utility work.
Compensation and employment details
The salary range for this position is AUD 75,000 to AUD 85,000 per year. This is a full-time permanent role.
What you will do
- Maintain village grounds, including mowing, edging, and gardening.
- Carry out repairs and basic trade-related tasks across the village.
- Handle common-area cleaning duties such as bin removal, sweeping, mopping, and general cleaning.
- Support housekeeping tasks, including cleaning guest rooms and ensuites and making beds when required.
- Rotate between Handyperson and Utility responsibilities on a weekly basis.
What is needed for the role
- At least 12 months of prior grounds and maintenance experience in a hospitality setting.
- Remote-environment experience will be considered an advantage.
- Confidence working cooperatively with team members.
- A strong focus on friendly, genuine customer service.
- A positive, proactive, and motivated approach to work.
- Ability to interpret and follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Comfort working in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Physical fitness to manage long shifts and repetitive tasks.
- Good personal presentation and hygiene standards.
- Willingness to work in hot, cold, humid, and adverse weather conditions.
- A manual driver’s licence and a forklift ticket are mandatory.

Applicants may need to complete one or more pre-employment requirements, which can include a national criminal history check, a comprehensive pre-employment or coal board medical, and/or obtaining a Standard 11, S123, or G2 certification.
