General Labor/Maintenance

Overview

Compass Group USA is seeking a full-time General Labor/Maintenance team member for the Coastal Food Service location in Carencro, Louisiana. This role supports the daily upkeep of the building and surrounding campus, helping keep equipment, systems, and common areas operating smoothly.

Schedule

This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, with hours that may vary. Additional schedule details will be shared during the interview process.

Compensation

The pay rate for this position is $15.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Role Summary

The position focuses on routine maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning, safety checks, and general support for building operations. It also includes assisting with equipment installation and performing other duties as needed.

Key Duties

• Deliver attentive, one-on-one customer service while handling maintenance tasks.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Carry out small repairs on doors, furniture, and fixtures.
• Read meters and gauges at scheduled times to confirm proper operating conditions.
• Make minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Replace HVAC air filters on a regular basis.
• Support building safety and security by locking doors after hours and checking appliance use to avoid hazards.
• Move heavy equipment, furniture, and supplies by hand or with hand trucks.
• Mow grass, trim shrubs, and clear debris using manual or powered landscaping tools.
• Inform management when major repairs or building-system additions are needed.
• Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas.
• Set up, arrange, and clear decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding for events.
• Perform general floor cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming, and empty trash and restock restroom supplies.
• Drive vehicles required for job tasks.
• Complete other assigned work as needed.

Requirements

• No prior experience is needed.
• A valid Non-CDL Class C driver’s license may be required.
• Candidates must be able to perform the essential job duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.
