Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position is based in Houston, TX and is responsible for managing the daily activity of the company vehicle fleet. The Fleet Coordinator oversees vehicle scheduling and dispatch, checks fleet usage levels, and makes sure vehicles remain serviced, inspected, and aligned with safety and regulatory expectations. The role also involves regular coordination with drivers, operations personnel, and customers to arrange pickups, deliveries, and resolution of service issues.
Key Duties
- Coordinate day-to-day fleet schedules and dispatch assignments.
- Monitor how vehicles are being used and identify opportunities to improve utilization.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained, inspected, and compliant with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
- Stay in regular contact with drivers, operations teams, and customers to support pickups, deliveries, and issue handling.
- Track fleet performance metrics and keep records and systems updated accurately.
- Respond to service requests and assist with operational decisions that improve routing, reduce idle time, and manage costs.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements that strengthen service quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience in fleet operations and fleet management, including vehicle usage, maintenance, and compliance coordination.
- Background in operations management with the ability to optimize routes, schedules, and resources.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with customer service ability for working with drivers, internal teams, and clients.
- Comfort using fleet management systems, GPS tracking tools, and basic MS Office software.
- Well-developed organization, time management, attention to detail, and accurate documentation habits.
- Ability to review operational data and suggest ways to improve efficiency, safety, and cost control.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or a similar environment is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Capable of working on-site in a fast-moving environment while managing multiple priorities responsibly and safely.
