Role overview
ABS Colombia is looking for a part-time remote Data Analyst to help turn operational and commercial data into practical business insights. The position supports decision-making across areas such as production, sales, and genetic performance.
What you will do
You will work with data from multiple sources, including production, sales, and genetics records. Your work will involve preparing data, creating reports and dashboards, carrying out descriptive and exploratory analysis, and sharing findings that help guide management, sales, and technical teams.
Core duties
- Collect, clean, and organize data from different internal sources.
- Build reports, dashboards, and other reporting outputs.
- Apply statistical techniques to analyze trends and patterns.
- Check data accuracy and maintain strong data quality standards.
- Document analysis methods and reporting processes clearly.
- Present insights in a simple way for non-technical audiences.
- Work with cross-functional teams to clarify data needs and improve data workflows.
- Support strategic projects related to genetic improvement and agribusiness performance.
Qualifications and expectations
The ideal candidate should be comfortable interpreting complex datasets, using statistical and modeling approaches, and communicating findings effectively. Familiarity with analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, or BI dashboards is important, along with an openness to learn new technologies.
Additional requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline is preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience may also be considered. This role suits someone who can work independently in a remote, part-time setup, handle priorities well, and meet deadlines with limited supervision. Strong attention to detail, disciplined documentation, and a commitment to accurate reporting are essential. Experience in agribusiness, livestock, biotechnology, or with genetic and production data would be an added advantage.
