Role overview
The Customer Experience Specialist role in Hobart is focused on creating a memorable, high-quality journey for Tesla customers from the sales stage through to delivery. The position plays an important part in helping shape the customer experience while supporting the company’s expanding sales, delivery, and registration activities.
Key responsibilities
- Greet customers on delivery day and make the handover experience smooth, welcoming, and enjoyable.
- Explain the core features and basic operation of the vehicle to new owners.
- Support the Store Leader in managing delivery processes so customers receive a strong end-to-end experience.
- Organise vehicle staging and run delivery appointments, including personalised new-owner orientations based on each customer’s needs and comfort level.
- Build strong knowledge of Tesla products and services, as well as local EV incentives available to owners.
- Keep up to date with industry developments and effective operational practices.
- Work with the vehicle readiness team to complete final quality checks before each handover.
- Share useful feedback with program management and other stakeholders to improve efficiency and drive process improvements.
- Coordinate across internal and external teams involved in delivery-day activities, including Sales, Service, Registration, and Remarketing.
- Use a customer-first approach to understand concerns and respond with professionalism and empathy.
- Handle objections and customer concerns, including questions about charging and vehicle education.
- Ensure the final delivery receipt is completed in line with accounting revenue recognition standards.
- Prepare, complete, and secure all required local documentation in accordance with government and revenue recognition requirements where relevant.
- Maintain CRM records accurately and promptly so management has current delivery information.
- Suggest ideas that improve the delivery experience and strengthen back-end systems and workflows.
- Assist with other retail tasks when needed, such as test drives, events, calls, trade-in intake, and similar activities.
- Maintain a consistently professional appearance.
- Support the local registration team by processing, checking, verifying, and updating documents and customer details in line with the local registration authority’s requirements.
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience is required.
- A positive, energetic attitude and genuine interest in the shift toward personal transportation solutions are important.
- You should be able to understand both business matters and technical ideas, and explain them clearly.
- Strong teamwork and dependability are essential.
- Good communication skills and close attention to detail are required.
- A valid driver’s licence in the country of application is required, along with a clean driving history and at least 2 years of driving experience.
- The ability to obtain any required state licensing, where applicable, is necessary.
- You must have the legal right to work in the country of application.
