CRM Engineer

Role overview

StarHub’s IS Division is looking for a DevOps and Application Engineer to take ownership of the build-and-release flow while also contributing reliable production code for customer-facing products. This position blends infrastructure automation, Kubernetes administration, Jenkins pipeline engineering, AWS provisioning, and hands-on software development. It is suited to someone who can move comfortably between Helm charts, Python modules, and deployment automation.

What you will do

• Set DevOps standards and operating practices, with emphasis on trunk-based development, short-lived branches, CI quality gates, and automated code checks.
• Build, improve, and support Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines using Pipeline-as-Code, including shared libraries and both scripted and declarative approaches.
• Create and maintain automation scripts and delivery tooling in Shell, Python, and Groovy to streamline the software release process.
• Run and support multi-cluster Kubernetes setups across EKS and OCP, covering Helm charts, RBAC, network controls, and autoscaling.
• Optimize PostgreSQL for performance, resilience, and recovery, including logical replication and pgBackRest-based disaster recovery.
• Put GitOps practices into action using tools such as Argo CD or Flux to ensure deployments are repeatable and traceable.
• Provision and operate AWS infrastructure such as EKS, RDS/PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, and IAM.
• Develop and sustain Infrastructure as Code assets with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Contribute to application development in Python, Go, or TypeScript, including design discussions and performance analysis.
• Set up observability and incident response using tools like Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, PagerDuty, and VictorOps.
• Prepare technical documentation and share knowledge with internal stakeholders.

What we are looking for

• A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of combined background in DevOps, SRE, or software engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of containerized systems, Kubernetes internals, and Helm.
• Practical production experience with Jenkins and modern CI/CD methods.
• Ability to code in at least one language such as Python, Go, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Good SQL skills along with real-world PostgreSQL administration experience.
• Sound understanding of AWS core services, IAM security, and cloud cost optimization.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Comfort with Linux internals, networking basics, and shell scripting.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities.
• Preferred certifications include CKA or CKAD, and AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional.
