Role Purpose

This position is focused on maintaining strong turbine reliability through predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities. The role also covers upkeep of records and housekeeping, response support during emergencies, assistance with manpower and material tracking, budget and inventory support, and contribution to reporting, analysis, and capability-building efforts.

Responsibilities

• Drive mechanical turbine maintenance activities by ensuring closure of predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance notifications so equipment availability remains high.
• Maintain clean work areas and up-to-date equipment history records for the turbine area.
• Carry out in-house maintenance work on the main turbine and help manage emergency situations to reduce downtime.
• Support the preparation of Annual Overhaul (AOH) and Capital Overhaul (COH) reports, helping keep work within approved budgets and resources.
• Assist the Team Lead in checking attendance and quantities to ensure accurate manpower and material tracking.
• Follow the resource plan for the turbine area by supporting proper deployment and use of people and materials.
• Contribute inputs for budget planning and help draft Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs) for review.
• Arrange spares from stores and monitor their availability at site to avoid delays in maintenance work.
• Raise Purchase Requests (PRs) when directed and approved by Team Leads.
• Prepare reports based on inputs from Team Leads and Section Heads for RCA, FMEA, ZFO, and technical audits.
• Share inputs for Training Needs Identification (TNI) and participate in training and audit activities to improve turbine reliability.
• Support the development of technicians and business associates through skill-building initiatives.
• Conduct Level 2 and Level 3 safety trainings for contractors and ensure activity updates are captured in KRONOS.
• Maintain adherence to IMS, AWMS, DISHA, and CHETNA requirements.
• Use resources efficiently during execution while keeping safety and quality as top priorities.
• Support quality checks and review procurement of materials and equipment to confirm technical and safety compliance.
• Prepare and issue safety compliance confirmations in GENSUITE.
• Contribute to digitization initiatives and automation efforts that improve operational efficiency and support organizational goals.

Qualifications

B.Tech/BE in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree from a recognized institution.

Experience

Minimum 7 years of experience in power plant maintenance and management, preferably in thermal power generation, utilities, or the energy sector.
