Role overview
Gateway Rehab Center is hiring a Wellness Coordinator to organize and support wellness and fitness programming across its Center Township and Ohioville, Pennsylvania locations. This position involves managing activities at more than one site while helping maintain a positive, therapeutic setting for patients.
What you will do
- Run and supervise boxing spaces, keeping the area and equipment safe, orderly, and sanitary.
- Plan and coordinate wellness initiatives for patients across all inpatient program levels.
- Provide one-on-one guidance related to general wellness and nutrition.
- Use surveys or needs assessments to measure interest in, or satisfaction with, wellness and boxing offerings.
- Record attendance and participation in wellness and boxing activities in the EHR.
- Keep wellness and boxing schedules up to date.
- Facilitate group sessions at multiple sites on topics such as medication management strategies, yoga, stress relief, and spiritual wellness.
- Drive and transport patients when required.
- Support crisis intervention efforts when needed.
- Take part in required GRC training sessions and in-service programs.
Knowledge, skills, and background
Experience with 12-step recovery programs or addiction-related work is preferred. Prior exposure to chemical dependency treatment is also considered an advantage.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- A valid driver's license and a strong driving record are required.
- You must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
- You must pass a Pennsylvania criminal background check.
- You must secure Pennsylvania child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprint clearance.
- You must pass a drug screening.
- You must complete a 2-step TB test.
Work environment
This role is based in a substance use disorder treatment center. It may require mandatory staffing coverage whenever needed to help maintain a safe environment for residents. The job also involves the mental demands associated with supporting people receiving substance use disorder treatment.
