Role overview
For the earliest possible start, Deutsche Bahn is hiring a Weichenwärter:in (w/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG. The role is based in one of the following locations: Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz. The position is designed for people who want to contribute to essential rail operations in a reliable, safety-focused environment.
What you will do
- Carry out shunting movements safely and on time in a mechanical interlocking environment at the Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz marshalling yard.
- Set up the full route for train movements, including points, track route, and signals, to ensure trains can depart safely.
- Coordinate closely with colleagues at adjacent signal boxes, train drivers, and control centers.
- Issue, receive, and pass on operational messages as well as timetable-related information.
- Monitor track sections, check the rail infrastructure, and close tracks when disruptions occur.
What the company is looking for
- You already work as a Weichenwärter:in and bring solid knowledge and experience in mechanical interlocking systems, or you are willing to learn them.
- You demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, dependability, accurate professional judgment under pressure, and punctuality.
- Fitness for operational railway service as a Weichenwärter:in is required.
- You are prepared to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
