About the team
This role sits within the authentication function, which supports a trusted buying experience for luxury watch customers. The team helps ensure that buyers receive genuine products and works in a dynamic, collaborative environment that values learning, growth, and speed.
Role overview
The Watchmaker will be responsible for examining and verifying modern and vintage luxury watches. The role involves close coordination with teammates and other operational groups to make sure buyers receive authentic, high-quality items. The position is based in Newington, Sydney and is a full-time role.
What you will do
- Review, identify, and authenticate luxury watches across a wide range of brands.
- Examine both internal and external watch components and confirm authenticity, including opening and reassembling timepieces when needed.
- Check for missing parts such as screws, pushers, and other components.
- Use internal software and technology systems to track, document, and manage orders throughout the authentication workflow.
- Record precise notes and enter correct information into the authentication database, including release details, product SKUs, production dates, and item condition.
- Monitor and maintain fine watch mechanisms, including gear trains, escapements, lubrication, torque, and micron-level tolerances during inspection.
- Handle watches carefully to avoid scratches or other damage, and ensure proper reassembly after inspection.
- Clean each watch after inspection is completed.
- Work proactively with Authenticity Guarantee teams and other departments to improve processes and deliver better service to customers.
