Key responsibilities

Material requisition handling

  • Work with other departments to determine what materials are needed and secure the required rig-level approvals.
  • Raise requisitions for materials and services through the company’s software or forms, including all necessary details such as specification, description, quantity, part number, and supplier, or use the available catalogue so procurement support can source promptly.
  • Track open requisitions and follow up on progress until completion.

Shipping materials to and from shore

  • Ensure all shipments are packed and secured safely, and prepare manifests for equipment, tools, and materials sent from the rig by sea or air, along with labels and supporting documents.
  • Make sure hazardous and non-hazardous waste is correctly labelled and packed before being sent ashore.
  • Coordinate with the shore base as needed to enable shipment tracking, including sending manifest copies on supply vessel departure.
  • Monitor equipment sent for repair, storage, or interfield transfer in line with the company offshore material transfer procedure.
  • Receive incoming materials, inspect them against delivery notes and outbound manifests, and report any discrepancies or incorrect items.
  • Store items correctly in designated areas with proper documentation and in line with safety rules.
  • Support the manifesting and control of client third-party equipment when required.

Warehouse administration

  • Keep the warehouse secured at all times and prevent access by unauthorized personnel.
  • Maintain a tidy, orderly, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Apply effective storage methods, labelling, and inventory placement to improve retrieval speed and maximize available space.

Inventory control

  • Maintain sufficient levels of spares, materials, and consumables to support uninterrupted unit operations.
  • Work with department supervisors to plan ahead and reduce emergency orders.
  • Carry out periodic cycle counts in line with company procedures.
  • Prepare month-end inventory and related reports, plus other standard inventory reports requested by the Rig Manager and Supply Chain Manager.
  • Review obsolete and excess items regularly and inform the shore base accordingly.
  • Keep inventory strictly controlled through the company software.

Reporting and records

  • Produce reports covering inventory status, material usage, and other warehouse-related metrics.
  • Keep accurate records of all material movements, including receipts, transfers, and returns.

Education and experience

The role requires at least a high school education or a relevant diploma, together with a minimum of 2 years’ prior warehouse experience with a reputable drilling contractor or another oil and gas supply company.

Skills and competencies

Strong English reading and writing ability at an intermediate level is preferred. The position also calls for good computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office, along with situational awareness, communication, teamwork, problem solving, stress and fatigue management, task prioritization, strong organization, and attention to detail.

Physical and certification requirements

Candidates must be physically fit and able to work in demanding conditions and confined spaces. Any certification requirements must follow the ADES Training Matrix.
