Role overview

This contract opportunity is for a remote video annotation specialist who will help label short clips with precise event boundaries and written notes. The work involves careful review of video content, consistent application of project rules, and clear communication when instructions need clarification.

Compensation and commitment

The assignment pays between $65 and $80 per hour. The expected workload is flexible, ranging from 10 to 40 hours each week.

Location

This role is open to candidates based in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Key responsibilities

  • Spot recurring events in short video clips and separate them according to the project’s labeling rules.
  • Mark each event with accurate beginning and ending timestamps.
  • Write brief, consistent, and easy-to-understand descriptions for every labeled event.
  • Make sure all submitted annotations meet high standards for quality and consistency.
  • Work with the team through written and spoken communication to clear up uncertainties and confirm requirements.
  • Check and improve your own annotations so they stay aligned with updated instructions.

Requirements

  • Excellent English skills at a native level, both written and spoken.
  • Proven background in video annotation, content moderation, writing, video editing, videography, or a closely related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on accuracy in data labeling.
  • Comfort following detailed annotation rules and adapting quickly when feedback changes the process.
  • Experience with AI training initiatives or machine learning data annotation is advantageous.
