Amwins Self-Funded is seeking a Claims Trainer who enjoys helping others build skills, confidence, and strong performance. In this role, you will create and deliver onboarding and ongoing learning programs that help claims teams stay aligned, consistent, and effective.

Key Responsibilities
New Hire Onboarding and Core Training
- Lead onboarding programs that establish core knowledge and prepare new hires for their roles.
- Provide organized instruction on claims basics, systems, policies, procedures, reimbursement workflows, and professional standards.
- Coordinate training timelines, milestones, and schedules to ensure new employees ramp up smoothly and on time.
- Evaluate trainee readiness using observations, assessments, and knowledge checks before they move into production work.
Ongoing and Remedial Learning
- Conduct refresher, corrective, and advanced training for experienced employees based on performance and operational needs.
- Work with leaders to address quality patterns and close skill gaps through targeted learning interventions.
- Help employees returning from leave, changing roles, or adapting to system and process updates regain confidence and perform effectively.
Training Content and Documentation
- Create and revise training guides, job aids, documentation, and reference materials to keep content accurate and easy to use.
- Maintain the claims training library and knowledge resources, including SharePoint and online documentation.
- Partner with Training Developers and Claims Leadership to ensure learning content matches workflows, policies, and performance expectations.
Program Review and Improvement
- Collect input through surveys, check-ins, and listening sessions to measure training impact and learner confidence.
- Monitor completion and effectiveness indicators such as participation, proficiency, and post-training results, then report findings to leadership.
- Use feedback, performance data, and quality findings to recommend and implement improvements.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with leadership, trainers, quality teams, and operations partners to support department goals and deliverables.
- Assist with learning related to system upgrades, automation efforts, and process redesigns to encourage consistent adoption.
- Take part in team meetings to share updates, potential risks, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience; backgrounds in Education, Training, or Healthcare Administration are a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience training adult learners in virtual or in-person settings.
- Prior exposure to Claims, Stop Loss, Ancillary, or a TPA environment is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work well across teams and seniority levels.
- Comfortable facilitating both small and large group discussions and presentations.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
- Adaptable, professional, and able to support learners through change in a fast-moving setting.
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles and the ability to create engaging materials such as job aids, activities, guides, and assessments.
- Experience with an LMS and virtual training platforms is helpful.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
