About the role

Ardene is looking for a friendly, energetic retail professional who enjoys working in fashion. In this position, you will help drive visual presentation, merchandising, and marketing execution while working closely with store management to keep the sales floor and stockroom running smoothly. When the store and assistant managers are not available, you will take charge of store operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day store operations when the Store Manager and Assistant Manager are away, including store opening and closing, cleanliness, replenishment, merchandising, customer service, and team supervision.
  • Create a welcoming shopping experience by greeting customers, acknowledging them, re-engaging when needed, and staying informed about products.
  • Handle purchases and transactions at the cash register.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Support the Store Manager in maintaining standards outlined in the employee manual.
  • Carry out other store-related tasks assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of retail experience is required.
  • A high school diploma is considered an advantage.
  • Strong sales ability and customer service skills are needed.
  • Good time management and prioritization skills are important.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • You should be able to assign tasks and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Comfort with leading a team in a positive, inclusive way is essential.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods and use a ladder.
  • Ability to move, lift, and manage merchandise and store fixtures weighing up to 30 pounds.

Availability

  • Must be available for day, evening, and weekend shifts.
