Role overview
Kraft Heinz is seeking a permanent Territory Manager to join its New Zealand sales team in Christchurch. This role is designed for someone who wants to build a career in sales within a fast-paced, collaborative environment that supports internal progression and ongoing development.
The company is a major global food and beverage business with a broad portfolio of brands spanning condiments, sauces, cheese, dairy, meals, meats, beverages, coffee, infant nutrition, and other grocery products.
What you will do
- Use sales and store data to understand what drives performance and spot opportunities to improve results across your territory.
- Build strong working relationships with buyers, store owners, managers, and retail teams.
- Adapt your communication style to different customers and listen carefully to their needs.
- Recommend products and actions with confidence and use persuasive selling methods to secure ranging, distribution, and display opportunities.
- Execute merchandising standards, relays, and planograms accurately and within required timelines.
- Keep shelves stocked, products visible, and in line with brand and store guidelines.
- Manage your schedule, priorities, and store visits efficiently across multiple locations.
- Approach problems positively, ask for feedback, and keep improving your sales approach.
- Work in line with Kraft Heinz values and contribute to the company’s broader goals.
- Follow all Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, Ethical, and Human Resources policies.
What you need
- Comfort using Excel and reading basic data outputs.
- Understanding of core sales principles, with support from the Regional Field Sales Manager.
- Ability to identify retail opportunities, interpret simple store data, and present practical recommendations clearly.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including active listening and thoughtful questioning.
- Experience using data and insights to support selling and presentations.
- Good personal organisation, resilience, initiative, ownership, curiosity, and a willingness to keep learning.
- Previous sales experience in FMCG, or with key international or local retailers, backed by a solid track record.
- A valid driver licence and the ability to travel within the territory.
- A tertiary qualification is preferred, but it is not mandatory.
