Role overview
Maynooth University’s School of Business is recruiting a Technical Research Assistant to join the International Research on Energy Systems Integration, Education & Environment for Sustainability and Innovation Center (IRESI). The centre supports research aimed at advancing sustainable energy systems and contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
The appointed person will work with a multidisciplinary technical team on the Research Ireland-funded RENEW project. This role is suited to someone who is careful, adaptable, and keen to grow their research experience across both the technical and applied sides of research and development.
What you will do
You will assist experienced team members with software-related work, data handling, and the preparation and upkeep of large datasets. The role also includes helping to develop, test, and improve technical solutions that support the goals of the RENEW project.
The work environment is collaborative and fast-moving, so the position calls for strong analytical ability, a readiness to learn, and the capacity to contribute effectively within a team.
Salary and pay provisions
Two public-sector pay levels are listed for this post:
- Research Assistant Level I (2026): €33,792 to €37,725 per annum, based on 6 points.
- Research Assistant Level II (2026): €38,674 per annum, based on 1 point.
Appointments will follow public sector pay rules.
