Job description

Role overview

The Technical Designer supports the creation of high-quality construction documentation and contributes across multiple project phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. This position reports to the Production Director.

Key contributions

  • Use design software effectively to prepare presentation materials.
  • Develop architectural construction drawings in Revit.
  • Compile plans, construction documents, and related materials needed for permitting.
  • Work with team members to coordinate the production of construction documents.
  • Support the development of Revit models during the design stage.
  • Assist architects and project managers during the construction administration stage.

Requirements and qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a closely related discipline is required.
  • Between 1 and 3 years of professional experience is preferred.
  • Strong ability to solve problems and work collaboratively with others.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Revit is required.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Strong organization and prioritization abilities.
  • Creative thinking, integrity, and initiative are important.
  • Ability to handle pressure, manage several tasks at once, and adapt priorities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation and benefits

The expected base salary range for California-based hires is $52,000 to $78,000 annually. Final pay will depend on qualifications, education, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, work location, and internal equity. The employer notes that the selected candidate is not expected to be placed near the top half of the range. The overall package may also include discretionary bonus incentives along with medical, financial, and other benefits.
