Job description
About the company
Landing has been expanding a nationwide flexible living network since 2019, now spanning more than 35 markets with thousands of apartments and a model built around no deposits and minimal friction. The business moves quickly, priorities can change fast, and the work environment is highly dynamic.
Role overview
This position is centered on market coverage and operations. As a Task Force Manager, you will be deployed to Landing markets across the United States based on business requirements and step in as the only operator when a General Manager is away. In practice, you will take full ownership of the market for one to three weeks at a time, covering member experience, property partnerships, housekeeping and maintenance coordination, unit quality, and reporting on performance. You will also maintain key account relationships and then transition the market back smoothly at the end of the assignment. Since assignments are driven entirely by operational needs, being located near a major travel hub is important for rapid deployment.
What the role involves
- Oversee complete market operations while the General Manager is on leave, including member experience, landlord or property relationships, vendor coordination, and maintenance escalations.
- Handle member support requests and communications through all available channels.
- Work directly with property management teams to close maintenance issues, respond to member concerns, and support the execution of new lease setups.
- Track and manage market performance indicators such as NPS, CSAT, cleaning quality, and growth metrics.
- Inspect units to confirm every home meets Landing’s standards before a guest moves in.
- Maintain relationships with important property accounts for the full length of each assignment.
- Support market expansion by coordinating and installing new Landing homes within assigned markets.
- Prepare and coordinate VIP guest bookings with extra attention to detail.
- Coordinate clean handoffs with the AGM and Hub Manager at both the start and close of each assignment.
- Provide auxiliary training support when not actively deployed on an assignment.
Candidate profile
The ideal person has worked in hotel operations, short-term rental management, or another high-volume hospitality setting and understands how to keep things moving when guests cannot wait. Prior experience running a market, property, or operation with genuine autonomy is important. You should be proactive, comfortable making decisions under pressure, highly organized, able to juggle multiple properties and relationships at once, and skilled at quickly prioritizing urgent issues. The job also requires comfort with uncertainty and travel, plus the ability to communicate clearly and build trust fast with people at all levels.
Work pattern
This is a highly travel-heavy role, with travel making up about 80% of the job. While assigned to a market, you are responsible for it beyond normal office hours whenever operations require it, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Activity tends to rise near month-end and during busy check-in periods.
Compensation and benefits
- Competitive base pay of $75,000 per year.
- Stock options.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Life insurance and AD&D coverage.
- Disability coverage.
- Mental health support.
- Pet benefits, commuter benefits, and access to FSA or HSA.
- 401(k) retirement plan and ImmediatePay access.
- Generous paid time off.
- Annual travel benefit of $750 in Landing Stays.
- Strong internal mobility, with many Field Operations leaders promoted from within.
