Role overview

The Store Supervisor is responsible for managing store operations from start to finish, ensuring service quality, operational discipline, cost control, and team performance. The role covers staffing, scheduling, stock handling, order processing, and maintenance oversight while working to improve efficiency, profitability, and customer service standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the full day-to-day functioning of the store, including staffing, shift planning, receiving stock, replenishment, picking, packing, and cost management within defined operating standards.
  • Coordinate store activities such as hiring support, shift allocation, routine upkeep, and preventive maintenance.
  • Use picker resources effectively and assign multi-skilled tasks to improve UTR performance.
  • Maintain healthy stock levels by reviewing inventory, checking physical stock, and placing replenishment orders in line with demand-planning input.
  • Manage inventory controls and processes so that stock is accurate, sufficient, and well monitored.
  • Receive inbound deliveries correctly and in accordance with policies and SOPs.
  • Ensure outbound order picking and packing are completed accurately and efficiently as per SOP.
  • Track fulfillment activities continuously and suggest process improvements that raise productivity and profitability.
  • Lead the assigned store to achieve profitability, strong service levels, and employee development.
  • Monitor store staff utilization to ensure resources are used well and service standards are met.
  • Control operating expenses against budget and improve cost efficiency across store activities.
  • Address store shrinkage issues and implement the relevant corrective actions.
  • Make sure equipment and infrastructure are used appropriately and kept in proper working condition.
  • Ensure hygiene, sanitation, safety, and security practices are followed, while maintaining strong internal and external customer service.
  • Discuss operational issues with the Ops Manager and recommend practical solutions.
  • Oversee maintenance work carried out internally and by third-party vendors.
  • Ensure material handling equipment is used safely and properly at all times.

Requirements

  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a supermarket or restaurant environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, hands-on working style.
  • Comfort working with multiple tools and systems.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.
  • Adaptability and curiosity to learn continuously in a dynamic work setting.
