Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on the engineering, delivery, and ongoing management of upstream facility infrastructure. The engineer will coordinate across functions to build and improve safe, compliant, and cost-conscious systems for oil, gas, and produced water.

Core responsibilities

  • Own infrastructure planning and project coordination for the assigned assets.
  • Handle the design, installation, expansion, and startup of production-related facilities.
  • Oversee midstream projects such as compression, power generation, oil stabilization, and gas treatment.
  • Create, update, and use hydraulic and process simulation models for oil, gas, and produced water networks.
  • Coordinate pipeline engineering and permit activities with regulatory stakeholders.
  • Act as project lead for pipeline and facility initiatives.
  • Prepare equipment specifications and work with supply chain teams to estimate material needs.
  • Support operations and maintenance teams with engineering input.
  • Develop AFEs and monitor project costs, forecasts, and spending.
  • Contribute to process improvements, cost reduction efforts, and emissions-reduction initiatives.
  • Assist with mechanical integrity work and reinforce a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Electrical Engineering is required.
  • You should bring at least 10 years of experience in upstream or midstream facilities engineering.
  • Hands-on understanding of production facilities, process equipment, and field construction methods is expected.
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry codes, environmental rules, regulatory requirements, and safety standards is important.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are needed to collaborate with multidisciplinary groups.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities is essential.

Additional information

Periodic travel to field locations will be required.
