Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
Google Wallet is looking for a software engineer to help build and improve consumer payments experiences in Singapore. The team works on digital credentials such as payments, identity items, and passes, with a focus on making everyday transactions simpler, safer, and more useful. The environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and centered on user needs.
The role sits within Google’s Payments organization and involves developing new capabilities while working closely with UX, product, and engineering partners across Singapore and the US. You will contribute to products used at scale and help deliver polished, high-quality user-facing features.
What you will do
You will be responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software for Google Wallet. The work includes full-stack contributions, integrating server-side APIs, and shipping features that are accessible and suitable for users across different regions.
The team also encourages the use of AI-assisted development tools to speed up iteration and improve engineering productivity. You will work through all stages of the software development lifecycle in a highly dynamic setting.
Minimum qualifications
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience, along with at least 2 years of software development experience in one or more languages such as Python or C++.
Preferred qualifications
Extra value is placed on candidates with 3 years of mobile software development experience, and a background in launching and supporting Android or iOS apps. Experience across the full stack, familiarity with testing approaches and best practices for mobile apps, and exposure to AI tools in development workflows are also desirable.
Knowledge of the payments or digital credentials space is an advantage, as is a strong interest in consumer-facing features and a strong sense of product quality.
Eligibility and work authorization
Google will prioritize applicants who already have the right to work in Singapore and do not need visa sponsorship.
Equal opportunity
Google is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants without regard to race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or veteran status. Applicants with criminal histories are also considered in line with applicable legal rules. Accommodation requests for disabilities or special needs can be submitted through the employer’s applicant accommodation process.
