Role overview

The Shift Leader supports restaurant management in delivering the brand’s mission through attentive service, quality food preparation, and a welcoming atmosphere. This position is central to the daily flow of the restaurant in a busy, growth-focused setting.

What you’ll do

  • Help create a friendly, energetic environment for guests.
  • Oversee store operations and guide the team during assigned shifts.
  • Prepare food and cook menu favorites for customers.
  • Build a broad skill set while contributing to your own development and that of others.

Qualifications

Applicants should have some high school education. Prior operations experience is preferred. Any required food safety or local/municipal certifications, such as a Food Handler credential, must be obtained at the applicant’s own expense.

Work conditions and physical demands

This job involves working in hot, busy kitchen and counter areas with steam, food vapors, noise, and limited storage space. Employees are expected to stay on their feet for long stretches, handle hot and cold foods, use kitchen tools such as a Chinese cook knife, and work quickly while maintaining accuracy. The role also requires lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for up to four hours, and reaching across 36-inch countertops to serve guests. Strong verbal communication, adaptability, and the ability to handle conflict and shifting priorities are important.
