Job description

Role overview

Shopbop is hiring a Senior Visual Designer to join its Creative team in New York, NY. This position offers the chance to influence the everyday digital experience for a leading online fashion destination.

What the role covers

You will shape, maintain, and improve the visual standards used across site and email design so they can be applied consistently by the broader team. The job also involves hands-on production of daily digital content across shopbop.com and related channels, including the homepage, landing pages, promotional materials, email, and other formats for desktop, mobile, and app experiences. In this role, you will report to the Visual Design Manager and collaborate closely with the Head of Visual Design while helping drive quality, consistency, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and refine visual style guidelines for site, app, and email work, making sure they are well documented and consistently used.
  • Lead the full production cycle for digital assets across homepage, landing pages, promotional creative, email, and app-based formats.
  • Work with the Visual Design Manager, Head of Visual Design, and other partners to deliver accurate, high-quality creative work on schedule.
  • Create, document, and improve production workflows and operating processes to make the team faster and more efficient.
  • Keep a high level of precision and detail across all deliverables to meet Shopbop’s visual standards.
  • Handle several active projects at once while managing priorities without lowering quality.
  • Communicate early and clearly with stakeholders about timelines, requirements, and creative direction.
  • Coach and support other designers while helping raise the overall design and production standard.

About the team

The Creative Content team focuses on fashion-driven storytelling that blends editorial, commerce, and customer-centered experiences. The team values different perspectives, works quickly, and collaborates closely to produce thoughtful and inspiring work that reflects the evolving fashion space.

Qualifications and experience

This role calls for a designer with at least 5 years of professional experience and a live online portfolio. Strong capability with Adobe Creative Suite is required, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat on macOS. A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent background, is also expected.

Preferred background

Additional value will come from experience with e-commerce, search, social, and other product types that rely on established UX patterns. Familiarity with multi-platform services and applications, front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and cross-functional leadership across teams and regions is helpful. Experience in multimedia content creation, fashion retail or e-commerce design, workflow improvement, design systems, and high-quality production standards is also preferred. Comfort using generative AI tools to improve efficiency, along with curiosity about how AI can support products, workflows, and customer experiences, is an added advantage.

Equal opportunity and accommodations

The employer follows an equal opportunity approach and does not discriminate based on protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected categories. Candidates who need accommodations or adjustments during the application, interview, or onboarding process can request support through the company’s hiring accommodation process.

Compensation and benefits

The role offers a base salary that varies by location, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units. Final pay depends on experience, qualifications, and location. A broad benefits package is provided, including medical, dental, vision, and prescription insurance; Basic Life and AD&D coverage; optional supplemental life plans; employee assistance support; mental health resources; a medical advice line; flexible spending accounts; adoption and surrogacy reimbursement coverage; 401(k) matching; paid time off; and parental leave.
