Role overview
This position is for an experienced Senior Project Manager / Technical Project Specialist who can steer the delivery of large, complex initiatives in regulated settings. The role calls for deep knowledge of project management frameworks such as PMBOK and Agile, along with the ability to manage the full project lifecycle in compliance-heavy environments.
Locations
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.
Key responsibilities
- Own delivery across the full lifecycle of complex technical and network programs.
- Manage scope, timelines, budget, quality, and risk so that delivery stays aligned with business goals.
- Use PMBOK and Agile practices to support strong project outcomes.
- Work closely with engineering, network, security, and operations teams.
- Handle communication and coordination with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure work meets legal, regulatory, and governance requirements.
- Track delivery performance, prepare status updates, reduce risks, and resolve issues promptly.
- Continuously improve project delivery methods and practices.
Required background and capabilities
- Experience leading complex projects in regulated environments.
- Strong command of PMBOK, Agile, and hybrid delivery approaches.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and high-impact programs.
- Practical understanding of risk, scope, cost, and change management.
- Experience with lawful interception or telecom/security environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise tools such as JIRA, MS Project, and Confluence.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Education and certifications
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, business, or a related field is preferred. Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum Master are also preferred.
