Job description
Role overview
Qantas, Australia’s largest regional, domestic, and international airline, has built a broad group of businesses since its beginnings in the Queensland outback in 1920. Within the Qantas Group, the core operation is moving customers and freight through the Qantas and Jetstar brands across regional, domestic, and international networks.
Qantas Loyalty is a fast-moving business that has introduced a range of brands and services for Frequent Flyer and Business Rewards members, including Qantas Money, Qantas Insurance, Qantas Hotels & Holidays, and Qantas Wine. This 13-month maternity leave role is based at Mascot Campus in Sydney.
What this role does
The Senior Manager, Creative Services will guide the Design & Creative Services function for Qantas Loyalty. The role is accountable for delivering high-quality design, digital and video content, print material, advertising, copy, and marketing communications that support member engagement, brand strength, and business outcomes.
You will lead, coach, and manage the creative team to ensure work is delivered on schedule and within budget, while maintaining best-practice standards across digital and print production. The role also provides senior-level advice on design, content, digital, video, print, advertising, and creative strategy to better reflect member needs and strengthen brand performance.
A key part of the position is protecting and governing the Qantas and Qantas Loyalty brand. You will review and approve co-branded materials created with commercial partners before they are released to market, and will work closely with executive leaders, heads of departments, and external stakeholders. You will also manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers across design, copy, digital, video, content, print, and advertising.
Requirements
The role calls for an experienced creative leader with more than 10 years of background in a creative, agency, or corporate studio environment. You should have led strong creative teams across areas such as design, content, writing, advertising, film/video, or editing.
Applicants should hold tertiary qualifications in Business/Management together with a creative discipline such as Design, Journalism/Writing, Film/Video, or Content. A strong understanding of current best practice in design, content, digital, and marketing is essential.
You must also bring extensive experience working with external suppliers and agencies, including hiring, contract negotiation, and ongoing management. Strong financial oversight, the ability to scale teams as business needs change, a solid understanding of Agile methodology, excellent client service, and advanced stakeholder influence skills are all important for success in this role.
Benefits and support
Qantas promotes a workplace where creativity and passion are valued. The business offers opportunities to grow personally and professionally, along with on-the-job coaching and formal learning from day one.
- Access to discounted air travel across Australia and internationally for you, your family, and friends, plus special offers on accommodation and holiday experiences.
- Flexible leave arrangements, including 18 weeks of paid parental leave, superannuation contributions on both paid and unpaid parental leave until the child turns one, and additional purchased leave options for eligible employees.
- Discounts and rewards across shopping, dining, wine, insurance, health and wellbeing, leisure, and entertainment, along with salary packaging options for motor vehicles, eligible portable electronic devices, and professional memberships.
- Wellbeing support tools such as mental health learning resources, a wellbeing app, and a tailored nutrition plan.
