Job Description
The Senior Duty Engineer is tasked with overseeing the hotel's daily engineering operations, ensuring the optimal and safe functioning of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance systems. This role involves addressing guest concerns related to engineering issues, guiding engineering technicians during their shifts, and upholding preventive maintenance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the hotel's daily engineering and maintenance tasks.
- Monitor the performance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, generator, and water systems.
- Address emergency maintenance situations and respond to guest room complaints.
- Delegate and manage tasks for engineering technicians.
- Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance schedules.
- Conduct thorough inspections of plant rooms, guest rooms, common areas, and equipment.
- Diagnose and arrange for the repair of equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and equipment performance data.
- Uphold hotel safety standards and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Contribute to energy conservation and cost-reduction efforts.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to meet maintenance needs.
- Provide support during internal and external audits and inspections.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
- Proven ability to supervise technicians and external contractors.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting and leadership.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance management systems.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance.
- Prior supervisory experience is highly desirable.
