Job description
Role overview
We are hiring a practical, detail-focused scooter mechanic to keep an e-scooter fleet operating safely and at a consistently high standard.
About the company
Bolt is a rapidly expanding technology business with more than 150 million users across 45+ countries in Europe and Africa. The company’s mission is to build cities designed for people rather than cars, and it does so through the work of its teams.
Bolt is committed to an inclusive workplace where people are welcomed regardless of race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, or ability.
What the role involves
In this position, you will detect damage quickly, carry out repairs efficiently, and make sure every scooter is safe, dependable, and ready for use. You will also complete safety checks to confirm that each vehicle is fit for the road and meets quality expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out routine repairs and inspections to maintain the fleet at a high quality level.
- Examine scooters in service, diagnose faults, and identify issues across different components.
- Test scooters before they are returned to service to verify safety and quality.
- Prepare newly received scooters for operation by unpacking them, completing quality checks, fitting required accessories, confirming safety, and resolving issues.
- Support warehouse activities such as stock control, battery handling, shipments, and general upkeep of the work area.
About you
The ideal candidate is observant, accurate, and comfortable working in a hands-on technical environment. You should be able to use hand tools and power tools effectively, take initiative, and handle challenges with ownership. Prior experience repairing mechanical equipment, especially in automotive or electronic repair, is valuable. You also need strong local language ability and should be comfortable using smartphones. English skills and a forklift licence would be a plus.
Experience is welcome, but motivation, intelligence, and integrity matter most. Candidates who do not meet every requirement are still encouraged to apply.
Why this role stands out
- You will contribute directly to the future of mobility.
- You will work with fast-moving teams and highly capable colleagues.
- You will have opportunities to grow your career.
- You may receive Bolt credits to use the scooter and ride-hailing services at no cost.
- You can take part in team events and get to know your coworkers better.
