Job description

Role overview

Everlast Gyms is looking for a Sales & Retention Manager to take charge of membership growth, improve retention, and help ensure the active member base keeps expanding. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a full-time leadership position focused on guiding sales performance, supporting the broader team, and making sure every member enjoys a smooth experience from their very first visit onward. In this role, you will represent sales excellence across the club, set the standard through your own actions, apply effective growth strategies, and strengthen relationships within the gym and the local community.

Key responsibilities

  • Promote and execute the FUNDAMENTALS sales process, while training and coaching the team to achieve strong performance.
  • Increase new membership sales and improve retention among current members to grow the active member base.
  • Take ownership of the club activity plan, making sure initiatives are properly planned, delivered, and effective.
  • Develop inventive lead-generation approaches across both internal and external channels.
  • Track dashboards and performance measures, share useful insights with the team, and keep progress aligned with targets.
  • Support all revenue streams, including memberships, products, and secondary spend, to strengthen profitability.
  • Prepare and present monthly sales updates to the wider management team.
  • Build productive local business relationships and create opportunities for #WeMoveBusinesses.
  • Set the pace on reception and on the gym floor in a visible, member-focused leadership role.
  • Take part in company-wide initiatives such as #WorkoutWednesday and #WeCommunicate.
  • Give clear, constructive feedback to colleagues and help develop their performance.
  • Assist the General Manager with operational responsibilities, including health and safety, facilities, maintenance, recruitment, and maintaining high presentation standards.

The role also requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays based on business needs.
