Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
UWE Bristol is recruiting an early career researcher to contribute to a new NIHR-funded study. The project is centred on adapting a structured pharmacist-led paediatric therapy management approach for children living with life-limiting conditions who are managing complex polypharmacy in the UK.
The postholder will work with mixed research methods and will take part in the study both independently and alongside the wider team. Activities will include co-design workshops, interviews, focus groups with children and young people, their families and healthcare professionals, and stakeholder engagement events.
You will be expected to organise your own work, while also drawing on support and direction from the chief investigators and the broader research group when needed.
The project is based in the School of Health and Social Wellbeing and is being led by Dr Ilhem Berrou and Professor Lorna Fraser in partnership with colleagues from other higher education institutions and NHS organisations.
Project dates and contract details
The project begins on 1 June 2026 and is planned to continue for 18 months. The role is offered on a fixed-term basis until 30 November 2027. It is a part-time post at 0.6 FTE and is not open for job sharing.
What you will do
- Support delivery of a NIHR-funded research project focused on paediatric therapy management.
- Carry out research using mixed methods, both independently and as part of the project team.
- Contribute to co-design workshops, interviews, focus groups and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Work with children and young people, families, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
- Plan and manage your own workload, research resources and administrative tasks.
- Seek advice from the chief investigators and wider research team when needed.
