Role overview

Capgemini Engineering is hiring a Repair Engineer to support in-service repair work for aircraft structures in Bangalore. The role focuses on evaluating how in-service damage affects design and justification work, then building the technical basis needed to accept a repair solution.

This position is intended for experienced aerospace professionals with strong exposure to repair engineering, structural justification, and aircraft primary/secondary structure support. The organization emphasizes collaborative work, sustainability, flexibility, and ongoing learning.

Key responsibilities

  • Examine damage situations using the right inputs together with aircraft configuration drawings.
  • Carry out manual calculations and/or software-based engineering analysis as required.
  • Develop and assess structural repair options while balancing safety, turnaround time, and cost.
  • Use existing technical and airworthiness approvals to create approved repair solutions for aerostructures.
  • Draft technical justification documents covering design and stress aspects.
  • Arrange the approvals needed for the proposed repair approach.
  • Handle customer technical questions related to repair activity.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing and capability development within the team.

Experience and profile

  • Overall aerospace experience of 6 to 12 years, with repair-related work exposure.
  • Hands-on background in developing design solutions for damage on aircraft primary and secondary structures.
  • Experience preparing static strength and fatigue/damage tolerance justifications for repair-oriented design solutions.
  • Practical involvement in producing DB, AW, RD, TD, SAS, FAS, and TAS documentation.
  • Familiarity with daily in-service repairs as well as major repairs.
  • Working knowledge of SRM and/or ASR processes.
  • Strong understanding of design and sizing for aircraft primary structure components and parts.
  • Good grasp of engineering materials and how they are applied.
  • Comfortable with hand calculations using classical engineering methods.
  • Exposure to static and fatigue classical analysis.
  • Basic familiarity with finite element analysis.
  • Knowledge of both metallic and composite materials.
