Job description
Role Overview
This position is for a developing professional within the reference data services function. The role focuses on reviewing, assessing, and analyzing operational data and processes, spotting gaps in policy or procedure, and turning findings into practical recommendations. It also involves interpreting factual information, resolving inconsistencies in records or outputs, and helping improve business practices within the team’s scope.
The role requires combining established knowledge in the specialty area with a basic understanding of related industry practices. You will work with some independence, but the impact of the role is limited to your own team. Strong awareness of how the team supports wider business objectives is important.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day creation and maintenance of customer accounts, security records, and pricing data across multiple systems and teams.
- Look for ways to improve data quality and raise client service standards.
- Provide cover for the manager when needed.
- Guide team members, review performance, suggest improvements, and identify training needs.
- Support project delivery by supervising junior staff and helping ensure their tasks are completed on time.
- Validate legal representatives and authorized signers during document review.
- Check client documents for compliance with applicable policies and standards before processing.
- Receive and securely hold client documents related to account opening and maintenance.
- Raise and review account opening and maintenance requests through Citidocs and TTS Onboarding.
- Review documentation and confirm power validation where required.
- Maintain and update the document repository.
- Upload updated document versions from TTS to SharePoint.
- Confirm document versions for lending papers sent to clients for signature.
- Seek external legal guidance for non-standard client documents.
- Send status emails and track expired ID reports to help ensure expired IDs are monitored and collected.
- Manage signer details for Citi internal accounts.
- Use the Companies Office of Jamaica website to view and print incorporation documents and validate local records.
- Prepare and send credit-related documents, such as pro notes and agreements, for government stamping through the Tax Administration Jamaica Stamp Duty division.
- Handle EER requests to add, change, or remove users in various applications and perform ISA activities for locally managed applications and BOJ systems.
- Step in as backup for the unit manager.
- Assess risk carefully in business decisions, protect the firm’s reputation and assets, follow laws, rules, regulations, and policy requirements, use sound ethical judgment, and escalate control issues transparently.
Requirements
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in client, counterparty, or account data management within a global financial services environment.
- Good understanding of client needs and expectations.
- Financial services-related qualification such as IAQ or an equivalent credential.
- Bachelor’s degree, university degree, or comparable experience.
