Job description
Role overview
Join the recruitment function at NHS Golden Jubilee as a Recruitment Assistant, where you will help deliver an efficient, high-quality hiring service for a growing and diverse workforce. This position suits an organised and proactive HR professional who wants to build experience in recruitment while supporting candidates and hiring managers throughout the process.
What the role involves
You will support the recruitment journey from start to finish, helping to create a smooth experience for everyone involved. The work includes preparing vacancy materials, arranging interviews, issuing employment contracts, and coordinating pre-employment checks. Accuracy, speed, and adherence to NHS Scotland policies will be essential.
The role is varied and busy, so you will need strong administrative ability, excellent attention to detail, and confidence managing multiple priorities. You will also work closely with HR colleagues and teams across the organisation, keeping people informed, maintaining records, and providing a professional service at all times. The post follows a hybrid working pattern with a mix of office-based and remote working.
Key duties
- Compile recruitment packs and arrange the advertising of vacancies.
- Assist hiring managers with shortlisting and the organisation of interviews.
- Draft and send contracts of employment.
- Track and support pre-employment screening, including reference checks and PVG checks.
- Update HR systems with accurate information and produce reports when needed.
- Deliver timely, courteous support to candidates, managers, and staff.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in recruitment or HR administration and be comfortable using systems such as Jobtrain, eESS, and Docman. You should communicate clearly, manage sensitive information responsibly, and be able to work both on your own and within a collaborative team.
Knowledge of NHS Scotland recruitment processes, policies, and terms and conditions would be an advantage, though it is not essential.
Additional information
This is a great opportunity to join a motivated HR team and contribute directly to the recruitment and onboarding of staff across NHS Golden Jubilee. Flexible working options may be considered for this post.
Please note that this vacancy may close earlier than expected if a large number of applications is received, so early submission is recommended.
NHS Golden Jubilee is committed to inclusive and accessible recruitment. If you have a disability or a long-term health condition covered by the Equality Act 2010 and need adjustments at any stage of the process, support information is available in the job pack.
The organisation welcomes applications from all sections of the community and values a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Contact details for the Recruitment Service are included in the job pack.
Certificate of Sponsorship
This role does not satisfy the requirements for a Certificate of Sponsorship under the current UK Immigration Rules. That means it cannot support a Skilled Worker Visa or a Health and Care Worker Visa. Applicants from overseas should consider other immigration routes before applying.
