Job description

Role Overview

This opening is for a Quoting Manager with a growing manufacturer of custom electrical and industrial solutions. The organization serves a varied customer base and is known for quality-focused delivery, a customer-first mindset, and an entrepreneurial work culture. As the company scales, it is placing strong emphasis on process improvement, operational excellence, and systems that can support long-term growth.

This position goes beyond standard estimating. It is a chance to shape and lead an evolving quoting function while working directly with executive leadership, sales, operations, and manufacturing teams. The role is central to how customer projects are priced and how the business balances competitiveness with margin protection.

What You Will Be Doing

You will own the pricing and estimating workflow for a custom manufacturing environment, helping create accurate customer quotations and stronger financial outcomes. The work will involve reviewing technical documents, understanding manufacturing realities, and turning that information into reliable pricing guidance.

  • Oversee the quoting and estimating process for customer projects and production orders.
  • Study engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to prepare precise cost estimates.
  • Assess labor, material, and overhead inputs to support profitable pricing decisions.
  • Create pricing approaches that keep the company competitive while protecting profitability.
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and senior leadership on complex quoting matters.
  • Identify manufacturing constraints, cost risks, and areas where estimates can be improved.
  • Refine quoting methods, workflows, and tools to improve speed and accuracy.
  • Guide and coach a small quoting team.
  • Use data and cost analysis to support business growth and better pricing decisions.
  • Highlight opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency.

What the Role Requires

The ideal candidate should understand how manufactured products are built and how pricing decisions affect profitability. This person should be comfortable reading technical documents, estimating costs, and collaborating across departments to reach smart commercial decisions.

  • At least 5 years of experience in estimating, quoting, pricing, cost analysis, or a closely related role in manufacturing.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, labor costing, material costing, and overhead allocation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, and BOMs.
  • Proven ability to create accurate estimates for manufactured products.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to make pricing decisions strategically, not just by using fixed formulas.
  • Clear communication and effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with ERP or MRP systems.
  • Hands-on experience with JobBOSS.

Why This Opportunity is Appealing

  • Direct exposure to executive leadership.
  • A meaningful chance to shape pricing strategy and improve profitability.
  • A combination of technical manufacturing knowledge and commercial judgment.
  • The ability to make a visible impact on growth and operational performance.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role based in Grand Prairie, Texas, within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The environment is collaborative and manufacturing-focused, with regular interaction across Leadership, Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Production. It is a fast-moving setting where each project brings its own challenges, and quoting decisions have a direct effect on business results.

Additional Information

This opportunity is well-suited to a manufacturing professional who enjoys cost analysis, pricing strategy, technical review, and helping drive profitable growth. The role offers high visibility and the chance to help shape the future of an expanding organization.
